LESSON TITLE: How to prevent attacks

  LEARNING OBJECTIVES: In the course of the lesson students will be able to know how or ways in which to prevent attacks

❖ TOPIC: HOW TO PREVENT ATTACKS 

➢ Install antivirus software on your systems. These are software designed to detect and often eliminate computer virus and other malicious codes from computer system. They must be updated regularly.

➢ Scan your systems regularly to ensure that there are no virus infections. This is because new viruses comes out every day and your antivirus software may be outdated.

➢ Personal discipline would also help if you simply delete mails from unknown sources and not tempted to open them.

➢ You should limit the sharing of software with friends whose source cannot be certified virus free.

➢ Control the use of flash disks in your environment. It is common to copy music and video files also to exchange among friend and colleagues.

➢ Use original software, not pirated ones as is common nowadays. No software should be installed without approval.

➢ Users should not download software from unknown websites on the internet.

➢ Users must backup their files regularly and backups kept secure.
